What Does Onward & Upward Mean to You?

Black Woman smiling

“We’re always elevating, we’re always testing limits, we’re allowing no one to place boundaries on us, and we’re not accepting mediocrity in terms of our health, in terms of how we live, we will not settle for anything less than the best for our wellbeing as Black women, and we’re always moving that conversation onward and upward. We’re always elevating our health onward and upward. We’re always committed to living our best life onward and upward.”

Lisa Peyton-Caire is the Founding CEO & President of The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness (FFBWW), a Wisconsin based 501c3 organization launched in 2012 whose mission is to energize, mobilize and support Black women to transform their lives through education, advocacy and powerful partnerships.

The Foundation serves over 7,000 women and girls each year through direct health education, wellness programming, leadership development, and advocacy, while mobilizing women and community partners to be change agents in advancing health equity.

Lisa’s work as a passionate advocate for women’s health was spurred by her Mother’s untimely death at age 64 from heart disease in 2006, after which Lisa established Black Women’s Wellness Day (BWWDAY), an annual summit now in its 13th year that empowers women and girls to build and sustain healthy, wellness-centered lives. The Foundation is an outgrowth and progression of this work which has sparked a movement to intentionally address and improve Black women’s health.

In January 2020, Peyton-Caire and team opened Dane County’s first Black Women’s Wellness Center after a successful crowdfunding effort that garnered Lisa and FFBWW national recognition as a GoFundMe Hero making significant local impact. Under Lisa’s leadership, the Foundation continues to grow in impact and influence across Wisconsin and beyond.

I ordered product from ASHRO last week to takecon my vacatiion. It was shipped to me Express ovetnight I eagerly awaited my package all day it never came when i called ASHRO I was told it was delivered but it was not delivered to me. I could not get anyone to give me the tracking no. I need to find out where the driver took my package. I could get no help from anyone at ASHRO. I am not paying for what I never got. I have been a good customer for years. I am very disappointed at the No can help” attitude of the supervisor and phone worker I received. Mostly, I just wanted my clothes. Very frustrated with the no service I received. I am afraid to trust ordering from Ashro after this.

I love everything about ASHRO’s styles. However, I am older and taller than most,(6feet). And the clothes are not fitting my torso and arm length.I do order somethings and my have to return. But your clothing line is awesome, my sister look fabulous in her clothes she order. Proud of our black ladies.
